Gentlemen,

As I approach retirement from the Marine Corps after 22 years as an infantryman, I must tell you, You are not forgotten. While alot of Marines have not heard your story, there are plenty more who will hear about your heroic conquest during my retirement ceremony in a few weeks. When I was a young LCpl back in the mid 1980's, my Company GySgt had participated in the Maygue/Koh Tang Island campaign. He had always been a major influence on me throughout my career. Semper Fidelis and Happy 232nd birthday.

Happy Birthday Marines. Happy Veterans Day. I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your service to our nation. I want to take a moment to thank our brave young men and women who continue to hold the standard that we did so many years ago. You are loved and we are here for you. Freedom will never be free, but from first hand accounts, uncommon valor is still a common virtue.

I hope you all have a great reunion, many of you are members of VFW Post 11575 in Cambodia as I am. I spent the summer of 1973 the 374th TAW forward operating location at U-Tapao running guns into Cambodia in C-130's. In 2002 my late wife and me went to an U-Tapao Veterans reunion and had a great time, I hope your goes as well. I think being a member of Post 11575 has put me on your e-mail list I am honored to be on it.

Just wanted to find out more about the order of battle on Koh Tang and the guys who went through the fire on Knife 31. I am currently assigned to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command here at Hickam AFB as a Cambodian linguist. Thanks for your service. Until They are Home!
