A memorial service will be held for Dan Darden at the Hero's Memorial Park in Palm Coast, FL at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Friends and family are invited to the home after the memorial.

It is with deepest sorrow that I announce the passing of Dan Darden earlier this afternoon. For those who don't know Dan, he was the Radio Chief for BLT 2/9 and was with Col Austin and the command group on Koh Tang. He was also past Vice President of the KTMVO. His wife Ann has asked for privacy the next few days until she and family can get things worked out. I will post updates as they become available. Tom Noble and I would ask that you contact us if needed, rather than Ann. Thanks.

Thinking about this again for some reason then saw the link. Just printed and read the 1995 Naval War College report. What a mess. We learned lessons that may have helped get Bin Laden. Went through combat school with Sgt Dwyer from Massachusetts. Left NKP and the 56th SPS August 1, 75'.

Hello to everyone. I was on the island also on May 15 1975 with 2/9 Echo company Capt. Stahl was our c.o I was 19 years old and now I just turned 60. Time flies my friends. Congratulations Don Raatz for being voted in as the President. I liked you lette! Teresa said you still have a cheesy smile! lol Everyone at Larry's Bar and Grill said hello to you and the other six that were there for the 40th anniversary. Phnom Penh still growing and building. A Hooters Club is going to open about three blocks from Larry's Grill. LOL

Had a longer comment typed but got timed out. Too bad the mayaguez memorial was removed from the Ford Museum. Does not surprise me. It was totally screwed up by the generals, admirals, and Ford himself. He said everything went perfect. Tell the veterans and the families of those that lost loved ones.

7 june Ford museum re-opens. Just got back. Got sick to my stomach. The viet nam koh-tang mayaguez room no longer exists. The new powers that b forgot the phrase never forget. Nah come to think of it it must have been the long lines at DisneyWorld. Im looking for what was called the viet nam room. I walked by it 3 times. Ran into Jamie Draper. I asked whers the viet nam room. He took me right back to what i passed. I just kinda stared at him and said i guess i dont have to take any pictures. Told him i didnt care Marty was taken down. It was never about my brother. It was about 41 brothers who gave all and tonever forget 15 may 1975. Gone are the pictures that told the history of viet nam koh tang mayaguez. Jamie said they had to fight to keep the half of a huey display. Hell they may as well take that down it looks out of place. I think the powers that b forgot the phras never forget. I lost contact with Gary L Halls family I sat next to him in high school at Holmes High. I lived on the same street at 2041 garrard in Covington and I still haven't heard if they found his remains. Has anyone heard?
