Thanks Danielle for that info on Captain Stahl. I thought he was a very good Captain and he was a marines Captain, not concerned about what other officers thought, just concerned about his men.

I was with E 2/9 from Jan. 1974 until Jan. 1975. Until now I knew nothing of this. Is there anywhere to see photos of the deceased?

I was a navy corpsmen ready to depart from an air force base in California with orders to report to 2/9, my flight was delayed by heavy rain for 24 hrs. After arriving on Okinawa I was told if I was here 24 hrs sooner I would of replaced a navy corpsmen who died during this operation, my heart sank after being told this and from that day forward I have always thought of this navy corpsmen who got killed. I was assigned to echo company 2/9 at Camp Schwab with the BAS and did training with Echo 2/9 from 1975 to 1976. This tour was one of the highlights of my 26yr military career.

I just want to say as a family member of Danny G Marshall E 2/9 thank you from the bottom of my heart for the picture of the wall and showing his name. Its hard to get the story out about it when you say that it happened as part of viet nam then they ask the date you tell them and they tell you that you have the wrong date. That it was over long before then. If any of you knew him or mabey have a picture of him or something please feel free to e-mail me. Either my mother or I will answer it. I have a web site in memory of him u can find the link in the old guest book thank you
sincerly Danielle

So good to have this page. It is kind of like coming home. It just makes you feel good that there are people there who care about the same things you do.
