Al was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetary 27 August 2009

Howard Allen Corson was born in Goshen, New Jersey on June 10, 1939. He entered Heaven on May 24, 2009 following a short, but intense battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Dawson son Mark (Jackie) Corson of Florida, step-daughter Karine (Michael Penna) Shamlian of Pennsylvania, step-son, Greg (Gretchen) Alemian of Virginia, four grandchildren (Jimmy, Haig, Nishon and Ella), one great-grandchild (Olivia), sister, Judith (Garry) Hunter of New Jersey, mother-in-law, Inez Holritz of Minneapolis, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He is pre-deceased by his parents Howard, Sr. and Edith Corson. He graduated from Middle Top High School (1957), Rutgers University (1961) and received his MBA from Auburn University (1973). He attended flight school in 1966 and flew CH-3 and CH-53 helicopters, as well as other aircraft. He is a recipient of the Silver Star, The Distinguished Flying Cross, The Legion of Merit, and Purple Heart Awards. In 1976 he completed Armed Forces Staff College and ended his 22 year military career as Chief of Community Relations for the Air Force assigned to the Pentagon. Following his career in the USAF, Al owned and operated a Formal Wear business in the Washington DC area and a Mail Box, Etc. business. In 1999, Al began to enjoy the leisurely life of retirement.
