Just an update. Bob's white blood count went from 49000 to 74000! Normal is 5000-10000. The infection has just taken over his body. His temp is 94.3! He has an infection in his gut that is surpassing the infection in his leg. He had an MRI today which showed another abcess in his leg, but he is still to weak to go to surgery. He is very thin and has no reserve to fight much at this time. He is having difficulty breathing. I appreciate all of your calls and prayers. He is at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids,MN, room 388. My daughter has created a Caring Bridge site that will be available tomorrow. It will be under Bob Dochniak. Keep praying. I do feel your presence.

PRAYERS for Bob Dochniak, read up-date

Hi Al & Tina Sunday, January 25, 2009 10:11:24 PM
From: RLMLD@aol.com
To: trbailey@comcast.net

Just an update on Bob. He is right now in intensive care fighting for his life. He is septic throughout his body and is having a very difficult time trying to fight all of the infection. Last night he became very ill, to the point the doctor asked me if he wanted to be resuscitated. That was hard. Right now the infection in his leg is less than the infection throughout his body. He is very weak and can't fight. The doctor was going to take him to surgery today to drain his leg without doing an amputation, but he isn't strong enough right now. So keep him in your prayers. I don't want to be a widow. Thanks

Hey guys just thought i would drop a few lines. For those of you who dont know me I am Danny Marshalls niece. He was in E 2/9. I am forced to write some sad news. Danny's mother has passed away. She passed on Jan 11,2009 after a battel with cancer. She never knew what happened to her son. :-(

Subject: Hi Baileys

Hi Al and Tina, How are you guys doing? We haven't kept in touch since the reunion, but we think of everyone often. I have a huge favor to ask of you. Bob is again in need of lots of prayer. He has a very bad infection in his amputated leg. It is MRSA (the bad strep that is the talk of the medical community), plus pseudomonas (gas gangrene), and another infection. He is on 3 antibiotics and we have to go to the hospital twice a day to receive these as our insurance won't cover him to do it at home like he did last time. If the infection doesn't go away, he is looking at having his leg amputated above the knee. There is a big difference in a below the knee amputation and an above the knee amputation for him because of his spinal cord injury. Could you pass this along to everyone to pray. Bob is discouraged and scared. He is unable to wear his leg, so is back to using the wheelchair. He is in a lot of pain and just needs your prayers. I don't have everyone’s address. Thanks a bunch.

We lost one of our Marine buddies, Guy Rush this past Sunday. He was in Platoon 1091, then Iwokune, then Cherry Point. If you were stationed with him you would remember him. He loved his Harley and I am sure he is riding all around trying to help anyone in need. Semper Fi, Guy.

I was on the Coral Sea CVA43 during the Mayaguez Incident. I think of you Marines every day. I also pray for Joe Hargrove, Danny Marshall and James Maxwell.

We went to Australia and they were left behind. Some of you slept in our berthing area V-4 Division.

Thank You for your Service.
God Bless all of you

I was at Moffett when it happened. I remember being a young Marine wanting to go into battle. When I got the real story from a new commanding officer at our Marine Barracks, Moffett Field I was sick. Lt. Ustes, which I do not see on the list, was awarded a metal by Ford and advanced to Capt while I was at the base. Capt Ustes sat us all down and explained how things went down. I still think about today. What a bad deal.
