With the sacrifices of the past, present and future clearly before us; I thank anyone who currently serves, has served or has a loved one that has made a special sacrifice to defend this great country. I will carry the passion, dedication and devotion to the RED,WHITE and BLUE.

The wife and I celebrated the B-day and Veterans day at Jeff Kerns House in Arizona. Cut the cake with some older Marines and said a prayer for the ones that are in need of a little help from the lord. I've got pictures to send to Larry so he can post them.

Veterans Day salute's
Enjoyed 50% off meal at "O" Charley's yesterday and they gave a $10.00 gift card for next visit. Monday, will be going to Golden Corral for a free meal. Needless to say, Veterans Day salute's are very nice and does show America's appreciation for Veterans.

A most Happy Birthday (236th) to the USMC. It was a pleasure and honor to share some sand with the Best this country has to offer some 36 years ago. I take comfort in knowing the Marine Corps continues to produce these dedicated warriors to protect our shores and interests abroad. Semper Fi!

To help honor and remember those who served, I wanted to share the poem "Bury me with Soldiers" for the upcomming Veteran's Day Holiday.

Hope it means as much to you as it does to me.

I've played a lot of roles in life;
I've met a lot of men.
I've done some things I'd like to think
I wouldn't do again.

And though I'm young, I'm old enough.
To know some day I'll die,
And to think about what lies beyond,
and beside whom I may lie.

Perhaps it doesn't matter much;
Still, if I had my choice,
I'd want a grave 'mongst soldiers when
At last death quells my voice.

I'm sick of the hipocrisy,
Of lectures of "the wise,"
I'll take the man, with all the flaws,
Who goes, though scared, and dies.

The troops I knew were commonplace
They didn't want the war;
They fought because their fathers and
their fathers had before.

They cursed and killed and wept...
God knows
They're easy to deride --
But bury me with men like these;
Who faced the guns and died.

It's funny when you think of it,
The way we got along.
We'd come from different worlds to live
In one no one belongs.

I didn't even like them all;
I'm sure they'd all agree.
Yet I would give my life for them,
I know some did for me.

Though much maligned they be.

I miss their company.

November is here. Happy Birthday Marines! You all look pretty good for your age. Happy Veterans Day also, thank you all for your military service to our great nation. We are a band of brothers that nobody can break apart. To be fair, I also want to wish the other military services a happy birthday and that them to for their service to the U.S.A. We military all have a common bond; that we are willing to put our lives on the line for the protection of country. For those that gave the ultimate sacrifice, we remember you, your name, and your families.
