1000 WWII Veterans of the greatest generation die everyday. Please copy and paste this to your internet exploxer
http://media.causes.com/1060527?p_id=175378540 These vets finally got there WWII memorial over six decades later. Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos veterans are remembered on the Vietnam war memorial wall in Washington D.C. We must never forget what they did and never forget their names. Those that endure hardships in extreme circumstances have a bond that most people in the world will never have. America has forged and has become a free nation because of our military since the 1770's. Presently America is losing it's clout in the world. There are many reasons for this decline in a world super power. I plan to do my best to change this appearance that America is weak. If you do nothing, America will lose Gods grace, if we have not lost it already. My thoughts turn everyday to this day; my heartfely feelings for their families and in my prayers for their loss 15 May 1975. The new book by Scott Baron released 11 May will be interesting. To my Brothers and others touched by this mission.
On this day there is always a tear in my eye and my emotions run high. The truth of the matter is, both you and I know we can’t help but looking back, for it indeed changed all of our lives forever. To the families and friends that lost their loved ones, please know that I and my fellow combat brothers will never forget our fallen comrades. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 To my brothers this quote from Admiral Halsey WWII Veteran says it all: There are no extraordinary men... just extraordinary circumstances that ordinary men are forced to deal with. Better than half of the Koh Tang Mayaguez Veterans, have not been found as of today. We again reach out for your help in locating them. I hope the sun is shining bright in your face, and the wind is strong against your back. That God is giving you and your family an outstanding day. I will be working in my garden today, planting vegetables, having a beer or two thinking of you. God Bless America Semper Fidelis, Brothers Forever Love Ya, Al Bailey G2/9-Knife 21-West Beach ps - See you at the Campfire Gathering/Golf Fund Raiser in Indiana this summer and at the 2012 Branson Reunion. |

Well, it has been 36 years since the operation that will forever be a part of our lives. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of our fallen brothers and to let them know that we will never forget them.

Well, another year has come and gone, and I had hoped to get through this one with as few tears as possible. But, it was not to be and the tears flowed like spring rain from the eaves of my heart to the deep, dark ground below. Having been privileged to p#@*%! the new DVD “No Man Left Behind” narrated by Ralph Wetterhahn the sequence started, as my wife and I watched it Thursday evening. Friday, it was extremely difficult to concentrate on anything, much less my morning newspaper, as Andy Garcia, and all the other brothers that I had less known, began to walk through my mind and whisper, “Remember, remember, remember.” And I did, and as I silently wept, I wished them the peace that can only come from the remembrance of the courage of their deeds on that day, so many years ago. May they have that peace.

What a great site! My father participated in the recovery of the Mayaguez and thanks to this site I have a better understanding of the events of May 15,1975. I have forwarded him info on your "Campfire Gathering" in August and he has made plans to attend. His name is John Daughtry, he will be 81 next month, he is a retired USAF Lt. Col., and on May 15, 1975 he was Aircraft Commander of the AC-130 Gunship known as "Spectre 11".
