Served on the USS Coral Sea CVA 43 during this event I was nothing much more in a punk kid, but I knew some of the guys that went over and didn't come back. Thanks for a great website.

May 15, 1975 to May 15, 2020... 45 Years after this top secret operation most of my former shipmates are suffering from PTSD. To date, I know of (5) people including myself which are 100% Disabled directly due to PTSD. I would like to see the Navy Awards board correct their records and award the USS Henry B. Wilson DDG-7 (All Personal Onboard) the Combat Action Ribbon (CAR) for Operations Eagle Pull and SS Mayaquez Rescue/Recovery. I have a CDS-17 Award Citation/Commendation that clearly states we were in “Combat Operations” during these historic Navy events. There have been ships awarded the CAR for doing far less. My prayers go out to all of the men we lost that day. GOD BLESS Us and the USA!! — CWO4/LT (LDO) Ret.

Really sad to see the 2020 reunion is cancelled. This would have been my first one. Was looking forward to being there. All the hotels in Vegas are shut down so there is really no choice than to reschedule. But hope to be there in 2021. If anyone is wondering what the Coast Guard was doing there we were flying our C-130 daily out of Cubi Pt/Subic Bay searching for boat people from about April 25, 1975 to about May 30, 1975. The Navy directed us to get airborne in the middle of the night/early morning of May 15, 1975, and orbit half way between the USS Coral Sea and Koh Tang and fly cover for helos from the Coral Sea. We had radar coverage, air to air TACAN, and UHF/VHF/HF/RTTY comms with the Coral Sea and their helos. All returned safely.

I feel that you are doing a great job. for those who complain about it then get off your butts and attend. if your only going to attend because it is on the west coast then you do not have the right to complain. this is for everyone to heal. just because you can not get what you want then act like a spoiled bratt because you did not get what you want. to those who do a lot I THANK YOU, FOR THOSE THAT BITCH GET A LIFE

The website is a staple of our organization. If you don’t like it then run for office. Vote for change. Outside of that the people that put these reunions work their ass off to make it happen. It’s all done in caring and love and concern for our brothers. The answer is simple. If you are pissed at the CORE group. Tough. Run for office. Stop crying and lead.
