This is a shout out to all that read this site, post to it or have an interest about Koh Tang and the entire operation. I am gathering stories from those that were involved in anyway. Anyone reading this site that suffered a loss from this mission is also asked to send their story. This is not a book as much as documentation from those that were affected. What you write is what will be recorded. I ask that you send me your name, your connection to the mission for instance, I was on the Holt or Jolly Green, or the Greenly or the Air Base in Okinawa. Finally, I need a way to contact you to resolve any questions that I may have. Also, if you know someone that should send their story PLEASE tell them about this effort so they can be heard. I plan to move forward by mid-summer. At some point it will be too late to have your story included. I know writing these memories down can be difficult. Even if you have your story out there or documented in some way I ask you to do it once more. I would like to believe it will be worth it, however that is each individuals call.
I have had a good response to the mail request I sent to everyone we had info for. I really want more of these stories so please send the story to me…..
My contact info is

It's been a long time, I was young then, now I'm not. Hope life has been good to my fellow 2/9 brothers. I was in weapons platoon 2/9 "75" I think of our 3 brothers left behind. Trained with Gary Hall at Pendelton m60's, good friend. Still can't let it go!

I was a crew member on board the USS CORAL SEA. CVA-43 at the time of the Mayaquez Incident. It was a crazy time in my life which I've relived over and over and over again, for the last 37 years. I'm glad to have found your web site and hope to possibly reunite with some of my brothers in the future

To All of our Brothers and friends, this is to let everyone know that another of our Fallen Brothers has been accounted for as of 30 Jan 2013. PFC Daniel A. Benedett was accounted for on that date and is listed on the Department of Prisoners/Missing in Action website. That leaves four Marines remains unaccounted for, Loney, Hall, Hargorve and Marshall. I believe that the Air Force has only one unaccounted for and that is Rumbaugh whom drowned. May there be some closure for the family and for us knowing that another one of our own will be laid to rest finally after soon to be 38 years. I wished they all could be accounted for and closure for all. May they rest in peace for God knows they deserve it.
