I was a 20 year old airman first stationed at NKP Thailand in May of 1975. I was an air cargo spec with Det4, 6th Aerial Port Sq. I had been briefed that I was on the mobility team and expected to tdy wherever needed. On May 13th 1975 the Aerial Port Sq was Bowling against the 56th Security Police Sq when we were alerted to return to duty. While I was on the ramp loading the Security guys I had just bowled with, I was told that I would NOT be going with that flight, so I gave the guys a thumbs up and said to kick some ass for me then I stepped away while a guy took the last picture of the guys on Knife 13. God Bless You Guys and God Bless all of those lost and still living from that terrible last action.

Dear Sirs
In 1975 my unit ( VP-4 Special Projects ) flew on the Mayaguez incident. We were a specially confirgured P-3. The same one that was shot down by China a few years back. They had an " E " model though and ours was a " B " model in 75. We received a Presidential Meritorious Unit Citation for our part. Nothing can equal the sacrifice you guys made but just wanted you to know that the article in American Legion brought back the memories. I was in the Army 66-72 and then joined the navy in 73 to 87. Did three tours in Vietnam. Thanks to all of you. |

Best wishes and much Respect...
I served with the 56th Security Police Squadron at NKP and trained for Operation Eagle Pull with several of the SPs that went down on May 13th, 1975. I DEROSed back to the states several months prior to their mission alert for the Mayaques operation. If I had extended my tour I would have been on one of the three 53s that flew out of NKP. I think of these men often and of the Marines that made the sacrafices for this mission that so many know nothing about. God bless you all! Allen Workman |

FREE PTSD APP AVAILABLE
I just became aware of this free tool to help those with PTSD. From what I’ve read, it has been available for a little over a year. Also, this link to the “National Center for PTSD” is a good one to have. Copy and paste the below link into your web browser: http://www.ptsd.va.gov/public/pages/PTSDCoach.asp Semper Fi, Edd |

NEW WEB SITE FOR THOSE WITH PTSD
When Afghan veteran Cpl. Chris Dupee decided to record and upload his grim experiences with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), he built a website and others came. Today, Dupee's Military Minds website has been visited by almost 11,000 military members and supporters from Canada, the United States, Britain, Australia and 16 other countries. Dupee served With the 3RCR (Royal Canadian Regiment) during his 2008-09 Afghanistan tour. Copy and paste the below web site into your browser: http://militaryminds.can |

Want to know what 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines are doing in Afghanistan today? Copy and paste the below listed web site into your browser. You’ll probably be as surprised as I was to learn their current mission.
