Made it to the VA parade but didn't get on the news. My next mission will be to send an email to the news station and say Combat Veteran tells his story through his truck. SemperFI

November 12, 2016. Thanks for posting the video of the bomb exploding, Fred. I could feel the island dip suddenly, once again, from under me.

At this time a year ago I was standing in front of the Vietnam Memorial Wall, my first visit, running my fingers over the names of the forty-one Airmen, Sailors and Marines whom we lost on that fateful day in May 1975. I was also able to find the names of numerous friends who had paid the ultimate price during my career in the Corps, including a high school acquaintance that I didn't know, until years later, had even entered the military. I realize that they are only names engraved into a piece of black granite, stuck into the ground to represent the gashing wound that divided our nation during that turbulent time. But, I swear by all that I hold true that they spoke to me, their combined voices telling me that as long as we remember and seek to be a better people, their lives would not have been sacrificed for naught. I walked away a different person from when I arrived. Today, the same as every year, those feelings stir inside me and I realize what a great debt we owe to them. If you haven't been able to visit "The Wall" or Arlington Cemetery, I urge you to do so and promise you that it will be life changing experience.
