Koh Tang Mayaguez Vets Organization Guest Book

Just coming back to say thanks to ALL you brave men, living and not. Thanks to my friend Larry Barnett, who is a proud Marine, and was engaged in this battle.

By providence, on May 19th, I ran into one of your members, Allen Bailey, at Midway Airport. He saw a patch on my vest and recognized that I served as an Air Force Security Policeman. It was 17 of our guys, as well as the helicopter crew, that crashed and died on the way to rescue the Mayaguez. Allen told me that at your reunions you graciously recognize our guys along with yours. For that I say, "Thank You, and Welcome Home Brothers."

It was great to see and hear from alot of participants concerning the operation May 1975. It was also good to see my Plt Sgt - SSgt Clark Hale (1stSgt Retired). Thanks to all who put together this outstanding event. I look forward to the next re-union and reflecting with you all about the operation. We have a new organizational president = Terry Brooks.

I just want to say a special thank you to the Koh Tang vets and for a wonderful reunion. Thank you for the special gift to of the vest to Bob. Also thank you to all the men for carrying Bob up and down the stairs. Bob is having a hard time talking these days, so if he was quiet it is taking effort to talk and to swallow. We got back from Branson Monday late afternoon and my dad died Tuesday morning suddenly. He was in the Air Force. Again thank you to all the vets.

TODAY I COME HERE TO GIVE MY RESPECT TO MY BROTHERS AND THE 41 THAT GAVE ALL TO THIS COUNTRY. ALSO TO THOSE WHO SERVED BEFORE US AND AFTER US. TO HONOR THE ONES WHO ARE NOT HERE WITH US AND THOSE WHO ARE. YOU ALL ARE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WITH LOVE THAT CAN NOT BE EXPLAINED. BUT WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACKS, WILL ALWAY BE THERE WHEN I CAN. AND MY PRAYERS WHEN I CAN NOT. YOUR BROTHER FOREVER MISS YOU ALL. YOU GUYS TOGHT ME HONOR, RESPECT, AND BROTHERHOOD FOR THIS I SAY THANK YOU

My flags are out and the flowers are in the truck.My grandpa was a marine and my wifes dad and my dad were navy. We are on the way to the cemetary to pay our respects to the men and women who served this country. To the 41 who lost their lives in the mission we were all part of, we miss you.

My wife and I had a great time at Branson. Al thanks for the pen, being a sailor sometimes get confused on which end to use!? Corey enjoyed your paper it was excellent. Met many good people and hope to see you all again.

TO COREY MEHAM YOUR STORY WAS VERY GOOD. IT TOLD A STORY OF THE BRAVE MEN THAT FOUGHT THAT DAY. YOUR STORY INFORMED EVERYONE OF THE MEN WHO DID THE INPOSSIBLE AND MADE IT LOOK EASY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR STORY OF THE BRAVE MEN WHO DID NOT MAKE IT HOME.
TO BOB IT WAS A GREAT PLEASURE TO LAND YOU ON THE HOLT SO YOU COULD GO BACK TO BRING MORE OF OUR BROTHERS BACK HOME SAFE. YOUR ALL MY BROTHERS EVEN THO I WAS NAVY AND YOU ALL WERE MARINES I AM PROUD TO CALL ALL OF YOU MY BROTHERS NAVY MARINES AND AIR FORCE
