As many of you may know I had to write a thirty page English 102 paper for college. I was originally going to write it on WWII but I realized I did not have enough time. So I ended up changing my mind and I decided to write it on the SS Mayaguez Operation. When I was writing the paper I honestly knew little to nothing about the operation. With the help of my dad (Al Mahan), Tim Trebil, Steve Simoni, A Very Short War, The Mayaguez Incident, Siezed at Sea, A section from Bob W. Ford on virtualwall.org called "A Note from The Virtual Wall", as well as a few others that I can't think of right now, I was able to write the paper on the SS Mayaguez Operation. I received my grade on the paper today and I ended up getting an "A" which is the first time receiving an "A" from this teacher. I will send the paper to everyone that wants to read it all you have to do is send me an email to (cmahan94@outlook.com). It will be a few days because I will try to send one big email to everyone. I hope you all will like it and it was an honor to write the paper. Thank you all for your service!

I really enjoyed seeing and socializing with everyone at the reunion. It was very therapeutic and I feel so much better after being with all of my brothers. For those brothers that have never attended, Please make an effort to attend a reunion and if you cannot please reach out and contact a brother, it will make you feel so much better and the brothers really want and need to hear from you!!! A special thanks goes out to Al/Tina Bailey, Al/Debbie/Corey Mahan and Fred/Ellen Morris for being there for my wife and I. And to all of my fellow brothers thank you for being there not only for me but for each other.... Semper Fi

I want to wish all of the KTBC vets to have a wonderful reunion. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. I
I did want all to know how much I appreciate being honored as the first honorary member of the Koh Tang/Mayaguez Veterans Organization. I can assure you that that means more to me than any other recognition that I have ever recaived...whether it be sports, education, etc.. On behalf of all Sea/Landers, I wish you all Godspeed and enjoy the time with your brothers Semper Fi Don Miller |

When I got to Camp Schwab there were still a few of the guys left who had been on Koh Tang. I have the utmost respect for all of you. It was my great privilege to have met a few of you. I always remember my Marine brothers who were there on this day. I've been wearing Gary Hall's POW/MIA bracelet everyday for the last three years. May he and the others that we lost that day rest in peace and honor. My condolences to their families and loved ones today and always. Rememberances, Prayers, and Best Wishes to all of you. Your fellow Marines will never forget. Ron Lunceford, SGT USMC 2nd Battalion 9th Marines March 1976 - March 1977 |
